Relationship between Concentraqtion of Nitrate , Potassium , Calcium Ion in Fruit Juice and Content of Total Nitrogen , Potassium , Calcium in Fruit Tissue during Apple Fruit Development



Abstract
Relationship between content of total nitrogen in fruit tissue and nitrate ion concentration in fruit juice, between content of potassium and juice ion concentration of potassium as well as between content of calcium and juice ion concentration of calcium were investigated in order to predict total nitrogen, potassium and calcium content with measuring the juice ionic concentration of apple fruit.
The obtained results were summarized as follows:
1. Juice ion concentration of nitrate, potassium and calcium showed similar changes with content of total nitrogen, potassium and calcium during fruit development in Tsugaru apple.
2. There were highly significant correlation between nitrogen, potassium and calcium content of fruit tissue and juice ion concentration of nitrate, potassium and calcium respectively in Tsugaru apple.
3. Changes of juice ion concentration of nitrate and calcium, respectively, coincided closely with that of tissue content, but juice ion concentration of potassium showed different changes from total content in Fuji apple.
4. There were highly significant correlation between nitrogen, calcium content of fruit tissue and juice ion concentration of nitrate and calcium, but little significant correlation existed between potassium content of fruit tissue and juice ion concentration of potassium in Fuji apple.
